Facade

THE FACADE

What you see isn’t always exactly, what you get
And sometimes what you get you sometimes regret
That’s not to say don’t wish, or don’t be excited by what you see
It is just that things are not always, what they seem to be

Now family they say is the strongest of bonds you can ever find
I have been quite lucky, mine is an exception so bare that in mind
However, some are at war on a daily basis and always falling apart
Remember it is not always, what we do but whether it comes from the heart

Take friends well where do you start? Do they exist?
More fair-weather than not, there when it suits, if you get the jist
Rarely will you find someone who will be there through thick & thin
Ok on the outside, everything seems fine until you look within

Then there’s work well talk about two faced watch your back
Colleagues smiling to your face behind you’re back waiting to attack
Always looking for the chance to make you feel small & gain the upper hand
One-upmanship their chosen sport their goal to have you jump to their command

Girlfriend, boyfriend a match for life maybe one day even as husband & wife
Sharing those special moments and experiences that you go through in life
2 point 4 children a house with a pool, and don’t forget the private school
Whilst behind the scenes inner turmoil lies and pain cheated on feeling a fool

Life passes by faster each day and many things will challenge us along the way
A real time adventure with nothing and everything to lose so be ready to play
The clock is ticking and we are all magicians, illusionists, which ever fits best
So let us be honest if we are really frank not many of us are up to the test

Maybe I am a dreamer, an idealistic fool! But if we were all honest wouldn’t it be cool?
No one deceiving or being something they are not everyone happy with what they have got
The problem is we create the monster of greed and envy, hatred and spite
And if we are not careful then the time will come when it is too late to put it right

We are the same just different by circumstance; if we work together, we still have a chance
Freedom of speech human rights let us stop before we turn out all the lights
Why waste time or money, when so much can be done shouldn’t it be prosperity for everyone
Fate will decide nowhere to hide judgment will come, a cross to bear for what we have done
