A POEM FOR YOU JASMINE

A POEM FOR YOU

Cold winds icy chill, the darkest night all is still
Walking alone a sad forlorn figure with a broken will
In his mind all seems bleak all hope has died
Drowning in the sea of tears he has cried

Shackled by the chains that weigh him down
Ridiculed and teased as the foolish clown
Trying to understand what’s required in life
The constant knockdowns cut deep like a knife

Hope and faith in a compassionate world almost gone
Then from nowhere the air is filled with the sweetest song
Out of the blue struck with awe, suddenly brought in to view
Such amazing beauty, elegant and serene with a heart so true

Sparkling eyes and stunning smile to melt the coldest soul
Sending you in a spin, cyclone whirlwind round & round, out of control
Is this a dream? How could I even begin to make sense of or comprehend?
Truly to be cherished the moments with you those lucky enough to spend

More precious that any gem stone or richest treasure
You bring happiness and joy to those you meet in equal measure
Knocked out, blown away, quite simply what else can I say?
You bring light where darkness once dwelled you are unique in everyway

Dawn breaking, sun rising in the sky and now I must leave
Trying hard to make sense of the night now passed, did my eyes deceive?
After much pinching and rubbing of eyes I can conclude, I’m not going insane
You are more amazing than a beautiful rainbow glowing in the rain

Complicated as life is, what at first we don’t understand, in time makes Sense
Every experience we have no matter how small, its impact can be immense
Without compare wherever you go Jasmine you will always be one of a kind
No one will ever come close, another you would simply be impossible to find
