poetry chocolate

Chocolate

Think of something that you like to eat

That special something a favorite treat

Could be sweet, savory, or sour for me its chocolate

That leaves me defenseless with no will power

Dark or white milk or plain

My craving for chocolate drives me insane

From first thing in the morning to last thing at night

Nothing can replace it nothing I can find

Can erase the thought of chocolate from my mind

Many shapes many disguises

Always satisfying and full of surprises

Different flavors wrapped in style

Whenever I am low, you make me smile

Feeling so happy lifting my mood

You are without doubt my favorite food

My one downfall my biggest vice

Simply divine incredibly nice

From doughnuts to biscuits éclairs to cake

You add the magic whatever I bake

That special something that makes you stand out

The finest ingredient ever invented without a doubt

Ever present as part of our day

Used by all in some part or way

Either to eat or on our body to paint

Never disappointed there’s no complaint

What you get is what you see

A delicious treat with exquisite taste

A cardinal sin to leave or waste

So many words can be used

Too much information would leave us confused

All becomes clear we understand

As it enters the mouth and leaves the hand

Nothing can explain that something you feel

As you, indulge yourself with your favorite meal

Satisfaction guaranteed I have to concede

Whatever my mood chocolate is and always will be my favorite food
