WHEN YOU RISE

In the morning when you rise

Awakened by sunlight open your eyes

Look to your side and what do you see

A life less ordinary or the person with whom you want to be

Can you live each day dying inside?

Forever living in denial in shadows hide

A life of regret is a painful fate

It is your decision, but decide before it is too late

You say it is over but find it hard to move on

But is it worth it for something precious to be gone

However long you leave it the message won’t sink in

The water is deep but the ice is getting thin

Each night apart my heart slowly dying

Without your tender kiss and touch, these tears I’m crying

Longing to hold you driving to be by your side

Stolen moments always having to hide

Leaving you behind I struggle to breathe

Still with my heart and love I believe

I know you are true and love me so

How much we are worth in your answer will show

Every trick used to win you back

He will never give up, hoping you will take him back

Are you strong enough to act on what you believe?

Or are trying, but flattering to deceive

When we speak it’s, one step forward three steps back

We have to be strong if we are to remain on track

Happiness is something that cannot be wasted
