poetry ice cream

Ice cream

Many flavours in all shapes and sizes

Perfect for when the temperature rises

Be it in a cone, in a tub, or the humble stick

In a bowl, glass, however it comes, take your pick

On its own, or with syrup, wafer, or sauce

Oh and where would we be without butterscotch of course

For me it has to be caramel with fudge

But which one’s the best; I’ll let you be the judge

Just a taste and satisfaction is guaranteed

A perfect choice whatever your need

A comfort food that’s hard to beat

A perfect end to a meal, or a special treat

Never turned down, you always want more

Without doubt a dessert we should all adore

Mouth watering, and deliciously smooth

In a class of its own, nothing to prove

Whoever you are whatever your age

It is likely that you will have had ice cream at some stage

From the humble ice cream van, to the local shop

Our love for ice cream, I’m sure will never stop

What else can you say? A truly satisfying dessert in every way

A piece of happiness to brighten up the dullest day

A shoulder to cry on when we feel so low

A magnificent dessert when you need the performance and not just the show
